Matthew Stafford placed on IR

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was placed on the injured reserve list.

He had been playing at a very high level before going down with a back injury that has sidelined him for the last six weeks. Through the team’s first eight games, Stafford had 19 touchdown passes and just 5 interceptions.

The Lions are 0-6 without their starting quarterback.

Stafford joins a long list of players that are currently on Detroit’s IR list that includes Marvin Jones, Jarrad Davis, and D’Shawn Hand.

This move was made following the announcement that head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn would be given another year.
