This year’s installment of the MLB All-Star Game featured the American League besting the National League for an eighth straight time by a 5-2 final at Coors Field in Colorado. The Tigers’ lone representative Gregory Soto pitched the bottom of the fifth inning for the AL and gave up the team’s only earned run courtesy of a one out solo homerun from Phillies Catcher J.T. Realmuto. The NL eventually scored their other run off a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Soto went on to induce three groundball outs in his lone inning of work.
The lefty reliever also flirted with triple digits during his eleven-pitch outing that included topping at 99.8 mph with his fastball and 99.4 mph with the sinker. Here’s the video of the homer Soto allowed when facing Realmuto:
