The Detroit Red Wings and Forward Jakub Vrana avoided a possible arbitration hearing that was set for tomorrow and agreed on a three-year contract worth at $5.25 million per season. Vrana was seeking $5.7 million in arbitration, while the Red Wings initially offered him $3.65 million. The 25-year-old was coming off a short two-year deal that was signed as a member of the Washington Capitals at $3.35 million per season.

Last season, after being acquired in the Anthony Mantha trade, Vrana totaled 11 points (8 goals and 3 assists) in 11 games with the Red Wings.
