The Motor City Cruise are entering its first season as the Detroit Pistons’ G League affiliate, and the franchise recently announced the hiring of their first head coach in D.J. Bakker, who recently served as the Pistons’ player development coach since Dwane Casey was hired in 2018. Bakker’s relationship with Casey also goes back two additional years to 2016 during their time together with the Toronto Raptors.
