As most of you Tigers fans out there know, Justin Verlander has not pitched since “Opening Day” of 2020 (i.e. late July of 2020) for the Houston Astros following Tommy John Surgery.
Verlander has not been seen around the Astros’ clubhouse since then, according to reports, and Verlander had to explain his reasoning behind that:
Verlander will be a free agent after this season, and Tigers fans from all over have been chomping at the bit for JV to return to where it all began for him.
Recently, an Instagram post was made by Verlander following one of his throwing sessions and received a very notable response from a future Hall of Famer currently on the Tigers roster:
How bad do you want JV back in Detroit to help with this rebuilding roster? Verlander will be 39 years old by the beginning of the 2022 season.
