Veteran Tight End Darren Fells has asked for and been granted his release from the Detroit Lions.
The 35-year-old was a healthy scratch in the Lions’ last game against the Philadelphia Eagles and only compiled four catches for 43 yards in seven games this season. In 2017, Fells totaled 17 catches for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns during his time with the Lions and is primarily known for his work in the run blocking department.
