The Detroit Lions Have (Finally) Been Eliminated From Postseason Contention

Believe it or not, the Detroit Lions were NOT the first NFL team officially eliminated from playoff contention this season.

That special recognition went to the Houston Texans as they were eliminated last week.

This week, we can officially say that the Lions are now out of that conversation completely (thankfully) missing the postseason for the fifth consecutive year. However, Detroit did become the first NFC team to be eliminated.

The Lions currently join the Texans, Jaguars, and Jets on the list of teams already out of playoff consideration.

But hey, at least the Lions did get their first win of the season last week at home against the Vikings in dramatic fashion:
