Lions GM Brad Holmes On Trading Out Of The #2 Overall Pick: “We’re Definitely Open For Business”

As we all know, the Detroit Lions hold the #2 overall pick in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, and the Lions have many holes to fill.

Do they take a defensive end? A wide receiver? A quarterback? There are MANY positions where the Lions currently lack talent and/or depth.

Year #2 of the Brad Holmes-Dan Campbell era is officially underway following a 3-13-1 first season in Detroit, and the big question going into the 2022 season is, “Can they increase the win total while improving the roster?”

When a team has the second overall pick in the draft, it pretty much states to them that they CANNOT miss with that pick, otherwise, it could set the organization back a few more years. Lions fans can relate to that kind of misery when it comes to missing on their first round selections (i.e. Joey Harrington, Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, etc.).
