Major League Baseball, along with the team owners, and the MLBPA couldn’t come to terms on an agreement for a new collective bargaining agreement by the 5 pm deadline on Tuesday down in Florida, so as a result, the two series of the 2022 regular season have officially been cancelled.

According to an article from ESPN.com, after the sides made progress during 13 negotiating sessions over 16½ hours Monday, the league sent the players’ association a “best and final offer” on Tuesday, the ninth straight day of negotiations. The players rejected that offer.
