To almost no one’s surprise, the Detroit Lions have informed Trey Flowers that he will be released when the new league year begins saving the organization just over $10 million in cap space when free agency begins.
The release of Flowers wraps up an abysmal free agent cycle by “Quinntricia” a few years ago that saw Bob Quinn and company these free agents to lucrative deals:
After appearing in 15 games during his first season in Detroit recording 51 tackles and 7 sacks, Flowers would be hampered by injuries that last two seasons playing in just 14 games notching 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
