Detroit Red Wings Defenseman Moritz Seider has been named by the Detroit Sports Media Association as the Red Wings 2021-22 Rookie of the Year.
Seider was drafted by the Red Wings with the 6th overall selection in 2019 and posted 50 points (7 goals and 43 assists) in 82 games played in Detroit this past season.
The native of Germany led all NHL rookies in scoring and is a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy given to the league’s best rookie.
