It didn’t take long for former Detroit Red Wings Head Coach Jeff Blashill to land back on his feet in the National Hockey League.
The 48-year-old was the bench boss in Detroit for seven seasons from 2015-22 and was let go right after the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. Blashill also guided the Red Wings’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, for three seasons and won the Calder Cup in 2013.
Blashill joins longtime friend Jon Cooper, the head coach of the Lightning, behind the bench in Tampa Bay.
