You can now add Tarik Skubal to the growing list of pitching injuries to the Detroit Tigers this season as the lefty has been shut down for the rest of the season and is due to see an elbow specialist.
It’s been a season to forget for the Tigers on almost every front, but the rash of pitching injuries continues to add salt on the sizeable wound that the 2022 Tigers have inflicted upon themselves.
To date (and by our count), the Tigers have used 16 different starting pitchers this season.
The 25-year-old and former 9th-round pick by the Tigers in 2018 went 7-8 this season in 21 starts (almost 118 innings pitched) with a 3.52 ERA.
