Many Detroit Lions fans out there thought the organization should part ways with both backup quarterbacks in David Blough and Tim Boyle after lackluster preseason showings.
After releasing Boyle yesterday, the Lions did decide to release Blough today while picking up another quarterback off the free agency wire.
Blough, the Purdue product, spent three seasons in Detroit appearing in seven regular season games and throwing for 1,033 yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions to go with a 54.3% completion percentage.
Sudfeld, the Indiana product, has spent three seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, 2018, and 2020 appearing in four regular season contests and totaling 188 passing yards to go with one touchdown, one interception, and a 67.6% completion percentage.
