The Detroit Red Wings open up the 2022-23 regular season on Friday night at home against the Montreal Canadiens and recently announced their Opening Night 23-man roster prior to its first game of the season.
The biggest storyline to come out of the Opening Night roster announcement is rookie Elmer Soderblom making the team. The 21-year-old native of Sweden was a sixth-round selection (159th overall) by the Red Wings during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
In addition, numerous players throughout Red Wings Training Camp were sent down to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Grand Rapids, and you can follow the Griffins on Twitter (@griffinshockey) for all the latest updates on their roster construction.
