The Detroit Tigers have decided to move on from reliever Joe Jimenez as the soon-to-be 28-year-old has been dealt to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for two prospects and cash considerations.
Jimenez, the native of Puerto Rico, spent six seasons with the Tigers compiling a 19-19 record to go with a 5.24 ERA, 20 saves, 333 strikeouts, and 108 walks. Jimenez is eligible to become a free agent in 2024.
Justyn-Henry Malloy was drafted by the Braves in the sixth-round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Georgia Tech and spent last season floating around between the AAA, AA, and High-A levels.
Jake Higginbotham was picked by the Braves in the 11th-round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Clemson and spent the 2022 season at the AA level.
