Billionaire and former MSU basketballer Mat Ishbia to purchase NBA’s Phoenix Suns

Billionaire executive, Michigan native, and former member of the 2000 Michigan State Basketball National Championship Team Mat Ishbia has agreed to buy the Phoenix Suns from Robert Sarver.

Sarver announced back on September 21st that he was planning on selling both the Suns and WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury following multiple and continued accusations of a toxic workplace culture during his ownership tenure.

Sarver is currently serving a yearlong suspension along with having to pay a $10 million fine that was announced by the NBA on September 13th following an investigation that found clear violations of workplace standards.

Ishbia appeared in 48 games during his time in East Lansing totaling 0.6 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per contest.
