Michigan drops College Football Playoff Semifinal to TCU in Fiesta Bowl

A wild back-and-forth College Football Playoff Semifinal between the #3-ranked TCU Horned Frogs and #2-ranked Michigan Wolverines saw the Horned Frogs build a 41-22 lead in the waning moments of the third quarter only to have the Wolverines claw their way back to eventually trim the deficit down to a one possession game with under a minute to go.

However, in their final possession of the game with to timeouts remaining, the Wolverines would go four-and-out and see its season end at 13-1 following 51-45 New Year’s Eve loss in Glendale, Arizona.

Jim Harbaugh falls to 1-6 in bowl games during his tenure at Michigan that includes dropping the last six in a row.

With the win, TCU (13-1) advances to the National Championship Game on Monday, January 9th at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles against the #1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (14-0), who held off the #4-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the Peach Bowl down in Atlanta by a 42-41 decision.
