The Detroit Tigers have decided to move on from reliever Gregory Soto send the lefty to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for three players in Nick Maton, Donny Sands, and Matt Vierling.
Vierling, the 26-year-old native of St. Louis, was drafted in the fifth-round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Phillies out of Notre Dame and has appeared in 151 career Major League games hitting .260 with 8 HR and 38 RBI.
Maton, the soon-to-be 26-year old native of Illinois, was a Phillies seventh-round pick during the 2017 MLB Draft and has played in 87 career Major League contests batting .254 with 7 HR and 31 RBI.
Sands, the 26-year-old native of Tucson, was selected in the eighth-round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees and has appeared in just three Major League games.
During his time with the Tigers (four seasons), Soto, the soon-to-be 28-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, compiled an 8-20 record to go with a 4.13 ERA in 204.2 innings pitched and 50 saves.
