Detroit Red Wings netminder Alex Nedeljkovic was placed on waivers yesterday, but after no other NHL team claimed him during the 24-hour window, he cleared waivers and was sent back to Detroit.
Nedeljkovic, the 27-year-old native of Ohio, will rejoin the Grand Rapids Griffins following a six-game conditioning stint.
In 68 games played with the Red Wings, the former second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft has compiled a 22-28-11 record to go with a 3.70 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.
