Dan Campbell’s growth and maturity as a head coach in the NFL was on full display in the final 10 weeks of the season.
The Detroit Lions finished the 2022 regular season with a 9-8 record after a terrible 1-6 start.
Campbell’s team finished with six more wins than last year, nearly getting the final wild card spot in this year’s postseason.
Despite this year’s rapid success, he was left out of the AP Coach Of The Year conversation.
The main difference between Campbell and the rest of these coaches is his team DIDN’T make the postseason.
However, I’m not entirely sure why Sean McDermott and Nick Sirianni are both finalists. Both arguably came into the 2022 season with the best rosters in the NFL.
Same goes for Kyle Shanahan, outside of making it to the NFC Championship game with third-string QB Brock Purdy.
It feels like Campbell was snubbed. What do you think?
