NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament: Michigan reaches 27th Frozen Four all-time, Western Michigan bows out in first-round

For the second consecutive season and 27th time overall, the third-ranked Michigan Wolverines are headed back to the Frozen Four following weekend victories over Colgate (11-1) and Penn State (2-1 on overtime).

The Wolverines will head down to Tampa, Florida to take on the second-seeded Bobcats of Quinnipiac on Thursday, April 6th at 8:30 pm. The winner of that game will take on the winner of #1 Minnesota/Boston University on Saturday, April 8th at 8 pm.

Meanwhile, the Western Michigan Broncos had a short stint in this year’s NCAA Tournament after bowing out in the first-round to the Boston University Terriers on Thursday afternoon. The Broncos end the season with 23-14-1 overall record.
