Lions re-sign Saivion Smith following recovery from scary neck injury

The Detroit Lions have brought back another member from last year’s team in defensive back Saivion Smith, who recently recovered from a serious neck injury sustained in an early October road game against the New England Patriots.

The 25-year-old Smith went undrafted in 2019 after spending his collegiate career at LSU (2016), Mississippi Gulf Coast (2017), and Alabama (2018).

Smith has appeared in 10 career NFL games between Dallas (6 games in 2020), San Francisco (1 game in 2021), and Detroit (3 games in 2021 and 2022).
