Another year, another NHL Draft Lottery disappointment for the Detroit Red Wings.

The Red Wings, who had a mere five-percent chance of landing the #1 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, ended up with the 9th overall selection in the upcoming draft and did not move a muscle due to having the ninth-best odds of claiming the top slot prior to the lottery.

Seven lotteries have now taken place since the NHL installed the draft lottery system for non-playoff teams, and the Red Wings have had ZERO luck in either landing the first pick overall or moving up in general:

The 2023 NHL Entry Draft will take place on June 28-29th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
