New Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams has made his first staff hire in landing Stephen Silas as his top assistant coach.
The 49-year-old Silas spent the last three seasons as the head coach of the Houston Rockets compiling a 59-177 record with no playoff appearances.
Before being the head coach of the Rockets, Silas was an NBA assistant coach for 19 seasons from 2001-20 with the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets (seven seasons), Cleveland Cavaliers (two seasons), Golden State Warriors (five seasons), Charlotte Bobcats (four seasons), and Dallas Mavericks (two seasons).
