It was fun while it lasted.
We can use the injury excuse all we want as Detroit Tigers fans, but ultimately, it appears that this team not good and deep enough offensively to overcome setbacks to some of their standout players.
Case in point, the Tigers put up a combined three runs total over the weekend and were swept in three games out of Chicago against a just as bad White Sox team.
Before that, the Tigers kicked off the kick dropping two of three at home against the Texas Rangers.
After going 1-5 this past week, A.J. Hinch’s bunch find themselves slipping into a tie for the second in the American League Central with the Cleveland Guardians with a 26-31 overall mark and 3.5 games back of the first-place Minnesota Twins.
