Michigan’s Adam Fantilli signs entry-level contract with Columbus

Michigan Wolverines standout Adam Fantilli will not be coming back for a second season of college hockey in Ann Arbor after signing a three-year entry-level deal with the team that drafted him 3rd overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

During his lone season with the Wolverines, Fantilli racked up 65 points (30 goals and 35 assists) in 36 games played resulting in the native of Canada claiming the Hobey Baker Award as college hockey’s best player.

On a side note, Mike Babcock, former Red Wings coach from 2005-15, is back in the National Hockey League as the new bench boss of the Blue Jackets:

Babcock coached the Red Wings to their most recent Stanley Cup in 2007-08 and led Detroit to within one game of back-to-back Stanley Cups the following season in 2008-09.
