Lions reserves struggle in preseason home loss to Jacksonville

Just like the first preseason contest against the New York Giants, Dan Campbell decided to sit most of his projected starters in the Detroit Lions’ second exhibition game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field.

Unlike the previous week, the Lions backups struggled, especially on the offensive side of the ball, as the Jaguars reserves performed better and came away with an 18-point road victory.

Teddy Bridgewater was rusty in his first snaps with the Lions since signing a free agent deal, but the offensive line reserves were more concerning allowing two sacks, four tackles for loss, and six quarterback hits as Bridgewater and Nate Sudfeld split the quarterback duties on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (1-1) conclude the preseason with a nationally televised road matchup against rookie Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers (0-2) this Friday night at 8 pm.
