Red Wings sign Joe Veleno to one-year contract

The Detroit Red Wings are bringing back former first-round selection Joe Veleno on a one-year deal and will become a restricted free agent following the 2023-24 season.

UPDATE: The #RedWings today re-signed forward Joe Veleno to a one-year contract with an AAV of $825,000.

The 23-year-old Veleno was drafted by the Red Wings with the 30th overall selection in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and has skated in 152 games with Detroit totaling 18 goals and 18 assists.
