Facing a 28-7 fourth quarter deficit, the #2-ranked Grand Valley State Football team ignited a furious rally to eventually even the game up at 28-28 with roughly 30 seconds remaining in their 2023 season opener at the #3-ranked Colorado School of Mines Orediggers.
However, fate would not be on the side of the visitors as the Orediggers would drive down into field goal range and kick the eventual game-winning 41-yard field goal with two seconds left to prevail by a 31-28 final.
