Michigan State’s Mel Tucker suspended without pay amid sexual harassment investigation

Michigan State head football coach Mel Tucker has been suspended by the university without pay following the recent sexual harassment allegations involving anti-rape activist Brenda Tracy.

In regards to who will be taking over the head coaching duties, the Spartans have turned to a pair of familiar faces to try and keep the season afloat.

The 67-year-old Dantonio coached 13 years in East Lansing winning three Big Ten Championships (2010, 2013, 2015) and compiling a 114-57 overall record.

The 56-year-old Barnett has served as the Spartans’ defensive backs coach since 2020 and was also on the MSU staff from 2007-17 in multiple roles as defensive backs coach, associate head coach, and co-defensive coordinator. Barnett played at MSU from 1986-89.
