Michigan State head football coach Mel Tucker has been suspended by the university without pay following the recent sexual harassment allegations involving anti-rape activist Brenda Tracy.
In regards to who will be taking over the head coaching duties, the Spartans have turned to a pair of familiar faces to try and keep the season afloat.
The 67-year-old Dantonio coached 13 years in East Lansing winning three Big Ten Championships (2010, 2013, 2015) and compiling a 114-57 overall record.
The 56-year-old Barnett has served as the Spartans’ defensive backs coach since 2020 and was also on the MSU staff from 2007-17 in multiple roles as defensive backs coach, associate head coach, and co-defensive coordinator. Barnett played at MSU from 1986-89.
