#4 GVSU pummels SVSU in annual “Battle of the Valleys” clash, two players earn GLIAC honors

It may have gotten dicey for a few moments, but this year’s “Battle of the Valleys” contest between #4 Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State saw the Lakers pull away in the second half courtesy of explosive chunk plays in all three phases of the game to pick up their third consecutive victory following their season-opening loss at Colorado Mines.

The Lakers improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in GLIAC play with the conference-opening road victory and set its sights on the final non-conference game of the season this Saturday night back at Lubbers Stadium against the Kentucky State Thorobreds in the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
