The Detroit Red Wings have made a notable splash in free agency in coming to terms with former longtime Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Kane on a one-year contract.
The 35-year-old Kane arrives in Detroit after nearly 16 seasons with the Blackhawks and 26 games this past season with the New York Rangers totaling 1,375 points in 1,323 games played between the regular season and playoffs.
The former #1 overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft is coming off of hip resurfacing surgery this past offseason.
