Michigan runs over Washington to capture first National Championship since 1997

The National Championship drought is officially over the Michigan Wolverines Football program.

During Monday night’s title matchup against the Washington Huskies, the Wolverines ran for over 300 yards on the ground and stifled a potent Washington offense defensively en route a 34-13 victory down at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas to claim their first national title since sharing one following the 1997 season with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Michigan caps off the 2023 season with a perfect 15-0 record while picking up their first two College Football Playoff victories in program history against the Alabama Crimson Tide (Rose Bowl – Semifinal) and Washington Huskies (CFP National Championship).

The Wolverines open up with the fifth-best early odds, tied with the Texas Longhorns, to win the 2024 National Championship at 9-1.
