For the first time since 2014 at Michigan Stadium, the Detroit Red Wings will partake in an outdoor game next season that happens to take place inside Michigan’s fiercest rival’s building, “The Horseshoe.”

The Red Wings have played in four prior outdoor games compiling a 2-0-2 record against the Chicago Blackhawks (Won 6-4 in 2009 at Wrigley Field), Toronto Maple Leafs (Shootout 3-2 loss in 2014 at Michigan Stadium & Overtime 5-4 loss in 2017 at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto), and Colorado Avalanche (Won 5-3 in 2016 at Coors Field).
