First, it was Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Just hours later, it’s Penei Sewell getting his big pay day moment as he agrees to a new four-year contract extension to make him the new highest-paid offensive lineman in the National Football League.
The 23-year-old Sewell was Brad Holmes’ first-ever pick as general manager of the Lions with the 7th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon.
Sewell has played in all but one game through his first three NFL seasons and is a two-time Pro Bowler and was selected as a First Team All-Pro this past season.
