A .500 week keeps Tigers at .500 overall and farther away from the top spot in the A.L. Central

Good, bad, and ugly.

That’s how the past week went for the Detroit Tigers that saw them drop two of three at home against a bad Miami Marlins team before heading to the desert over the weekend and taking two of three from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

As a result from the 3-3 week that was, the Tigers find themselves right back at .500 overall at 23-23 and in fourth-place in the American League standings, now 6.5 games back of the surging first-place Cleveland Guardians.

Some good from the past week?

Hey, the Tigers offense did something over the weekend!

More good?

Two words.

Tarik Skubal.

What’s the bad and ugly from last week, you say?

Two words again.

The offense.

(Against one of the worst pitching staffs in all of Major League Baseball, too).

This week, the Tigers travel to Kansas City to take on the second-place Royals from three games Monday-Wednesday followed by hosting the Toronto Blue Jays for four games over the coming weekend Thursday-Sunday.

The following week, Detroit hosts the Pittsburgh Pirates for a pair of games May 28-29th and then hit road to Fenway Park for a four-game weekend set against the Boston Red Sox May 30th-June 2nd.
