Tigers roar into All-Star Break playing best baseball since opening week of the season

As catcher Jake Rogers said not too long ago, don’t let the Detroit Tigers get hot.

Well, he might just be on to something….

Last week, the Tigers made an emphatic statement against two of the best teams in baseball in the Cleveland Guardians and Los Angeles Dodgers and came away with a 5-2 record after taking three of four from the Guardians and two of three against the Dodgers at Comerica Park.

If you lump in the three-game sweep the previous weekend in Cincinnati, the Tigers go into the All-Star Break winners of eight out of their last ten contests, which is the best current ten-game stretch in all of Major League Baseball.

Detroit now sits at 47-50 overall, twelve games back of first-place Cleveland in the American League Central and seven games out of an A.L. Wild Card spot.

Now, Riley Greene and Tarik Skubal head to the All-Star Game in Texas:

After the break, the Tigers hit the road this coming weekend to begin the second half of the season for a three-game set in Toronto against the Blue Jays on Friday-Sunday.
