In return, the Tigers received a total of five prospects, and if you factor in the first trade that the Tigers made involving Carson Kelly to the Texas Rangers, Detroit pulled in seven new prospects to their farm system.
During his second go-around this season with the Tigers, the 34-year-old Chafin threw 37 innings in relief with a 3.16 ERA, 1 save, 50 strikeouts, and only 16 walks.
In 18 starts with the Tigers, the 28-year-old Flaherty tossed almost 107 innings and tallied a 7-5 record to go with a 2.95 ERA, 133 strikeouts, and only 19 walks.
The 35-year-old Canha appeared in 93 games this season with Detroit hitting .231 with 7 HR and 38 RBI.
