The #2-ranked Grand Valley State Football team began GLIAC play on the road in Caledonia this past Saturday afternoon against their annual crosstown foe in the Davenport Panthers looking to remain unbeaten on the season.
Offensively, the second quarter proved to the difference in the game as the Lakers outscored the Panthers by a 21-7 margin that was more than enough following a scoreless second half as GVSU earned a 24-7 victory to improve to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in GLIAC play. With the loss, Davenport dropped to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in GLIAC play.
