GVSU Football opens postseason with home victory over Indianapolis, face defending champions in next round

The Grand Valley State Football team returned home to Lubbers Stadium this past Saturday afternoon for a playoff-opening matchup against the Indianapolis Greyhounds in the first all-time playoff meeting between the two schools.

Most of the game featured a defensive struggle with the Lakers taking a 7-0 lead into the halftime locker room only to see the Greyhounds punch first early in the second half to even the score at 7-7.

However, it would be GVSU who would rattle off the final 17 points and come away with a 24-7 win to improve their 2024 record to 11-1, while Indianapolis saw its respective season come to an end with a 10-2 record.
