That was more like it from the Detroit Lions.
Looking to bounce back following their shootout loss a week ago at Ford Field against the Buffalo Bills, the Lions took to the road to Soldier Field to take on the struggling Chicago Bears.
From the opening kick, it would be the visitors who set the tone early and never looked back to claim another “W” while continuing to control their own destiny for the #1 overall seed in the NFC.
The Lions improved to 13-2 on the season with two regular season games remaining and received a little bit of help from the Washington Commanders as they knocked off the Philadelphia Eagles to create a little separation at the top of the NFC standings.
However, there’s still more work to be done as the Minnesota Vikings refuse to go away as we look at the updated NFC North standings:
Detroit Lions – 13-2 (5-0 NFC North)
Minnesota Vikings – 13-2 (3-1 NFC North)
Green Bay Packers – 10-4 (1-3 NFC North) *PLAY MONDAY NIGHT AT HOME AGAINST NEW ORLEANS*
Chicago Bears – 4-11 (0-5 NFC North)
The Lions will play under the Monday Night primetime lights on December 30th in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game out in the Bay Area against the 6-9 San Francisco 49ers, who have been officially eliminated from playoff contention, at 8:15 pm.
