Grand Rapids Griffins second-year head coach Dan Watson was named by the American Hockey League (AHL) as the head coach for the Central Division in the upcoming AHL All-Star Classic held February 2nd and 3rd at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.

Currently, the Griffins find themselves at the top of the Central Division standings with a 20-9-3-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) overall record, good for 43 points.
