Believe it or not, we are now one win away from a potential Michigan-Michigan State round three matchup this season in the Elite Eight for a chance to go to the Final Four in San Antonio following a pair of opening weekend victories in the NCAA Tournament for both squads.
The #5 seed in the South Region, Michigan survived an upset scare from #12 UC San Diego in the first round and had to rally in the second half of their second round matchup against #4 Texas A&M, both out in Denver, to make their way into the Sweet 16:
The #2 seed in the South Region, Michigan State used a pair of strong second half performances in their first two tournament contests to get past #15 Bryant and #10 New Mexico in Cleveland and land back in the Sweet 16:

The Wolverines and Spartans now head to State Farm Arena in Atlanta this weekend for their Sweet 16 matchups on Friday night.
MSU will clash with #6 Ole Miss at 7:09 pm followed by Michigan battling #1 Auburn at 9:39 pm.
The Elite Eight will take place on Sunday afternoon.
