Red Wings miss playoffs for the ninth consecutive season

The last time the Detroit Red Wings made the National Hockey League postseason was back during the 2015-16 season when captain Dylan Larkin was a rookie and they ended up being ousted in the first round by the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games.

You can add another season to the Red Wings’ playoff drought as they were eliminated over the weekend for the ninth straight campaign.

Now, “Hockeytown” fans will have to wait until next season to see if the playoff drought will (hopefully) get snapped as faith in the “Yzerplan” continues to dwindle with each passing day.
