Grand Rapids Griffins finish third in Central Division, to face Texas Stars in second round of Calder Cup Playoffs

For the second straight season, the Grand Rapids Griffins have captured a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs after finishing third in the Central Division with a 37-29-4-2 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record, which was good for 80 points on the season.

The Griffins did earn a first round bye in this year’s postseason and will have some extended time off before their best-of-five second round playoff series begins against the second-place Texas Stars.

Last season, the Griffins made it to the third round of the playoffs before falling in a decisive Game 5 on the road to the Milwaukee Admirals in the Central Division Finals.
