11 umpires opt out of 2020 MLB season

According to a report from the New York Post, the MLB will have about 11 less umpires to call games once their season starts at the end of July.

That account for a little over 12 percent of the current staff. Much like some of the players that have opted out, umpires are concerned about the health risks related to the coronavirus.

The season is supposed to start on July 23 between the New York Yankees and the Washington Nationals.
