The Detroit Red Wings reached a three-year affiliation agreement with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye to extend the affiliation through the 2023-24 season. The upcoming 2021-22 season will mark the 12th year of partnership between the two organizations.

The Walleye have served as the ECHL’s affiliate to the Red Wings since 2009 when Toledo re-entered the league. The Red Wings also have an affiliate agreement with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
