Red Wings’ Jakub Vrana Out At Least Four Months Following Shoulder Surgery

Before the 2021-22 season could even begin, the Detroit Red Wings are already going to be without one of their expected key offensive contributors as Jakub Vrana will miss at least four months following shoulder surgery.

If our math is correct, that puts him out until February at the earliest.

Vrana arrived in Traverse City in time for Saturday morning’s practice, and about 10 minutes into the workout, left the ice due to shoulder pain.

After arriving from the Washington Capitals in a deal for Anthony Mantha at the trade deadline last March, the 25-year-old appeared in 11 games with the Red Wings and totaled eight goals and three assists that included a four-goal game.
