To pretty much no one’s surprise, the Detroit Lions have officially parted ways with Offensive Coordinator Anthony Lynn. Lynn lasted only one season in Detroit and had his play-calling duties stripped after the first eight games of the season.
As for the future of the offensive coordinator position in Detroit, Dan Campbell says that he will need some time to figure out the team’s next offensive play-caller.
Statistically speaking, after the switch from Lynn to Campbell calling the plays, the Lions’ offense got much better after the team’s Bye Week in early November that included posting one of the league’s best rushing offenses, Jared Goff becoming a more efficient quarterback, and Amon-Ra St. Brown becoming one of the best rookies in the league.
